A digital audio file that can be downloaded over the Internet. Once downloaded, a podcast can be played on a computer as a sound file or on an iPod or MP3 player to listen to at one’s leisure. Podcasts are similar in many ways to radio programs. The word “podcast” is a combination of the words “iPod” and “broadcast.” Like “broadcast,” “podcast” can be a noun or a verb.
