MiniDV

Currently the most common video recording format used in consumer (and some professional) video cameras. MiniDV is a superb video format, especially in comparison to VHS and other consumer video formats of the 1980s and 1990s. MiniDV has a long shelf life, however because the tape itself is so small, it must be handled delicately. For this reason, Podeloy Productions suggests transferring footage from MiniDV tapes to DVD, which is more rugged and also non-linear.
